The restaurant was extremely dirty. The men's restroom looked and smelled like it hadn't been cleaned since the Cold War. The fries were cold and soggy, so I asked for new fries. They were hot and soggy. My burger was pretty good, and the Nutella shake is like having an orgasm of the mouth.

Burgers are very small and the "seasoned fries" were simply regular fries with some "cajun" seasoning on sprinkled on top. This was extra. I don't even want to talk about the bathroom that I literally held a shirt over my mouth to try to prevent gagging. Luckily we were just passing through and will not have to ever subject our health to this place again. I gave them an extra star because they gave my kid a cardboard car to put together and crayons.

First time at a Steak 'n Shake and it's comparable to your average fast food joint except they serve you at your table. We came in a little before noon and were seated promptly with menus. Our table had some soda residue left near the back, otherwise it was clean for a fast food place. Our waitress was nice and friendly while taking our order. The food isn't much to rave about, but that's not why you go here. The food comes out decently fast (although possibly not in the order it went in) and it's cheap (all their meals $4). They do have tasty shakes though. My boyfriend ordered a burger (don't remember which) and a side of chili, while I had the garlic burger and their special strawberry shake with chocolate syrup on top. The boyfriend's meal wasn't anything special and the chili was very bland. The fries were crispy, however they lacked any type of seasoning. My garlic burger was yummy but you can't really go wrong when you slather on butter and garlic. The shake was yummy and I would order it again.

The burgers at Steak 'n Shake are good, but to me they really don't taste much different than, say Checkers or Wendys. I love the shakes that this chain serves up, and to me, Steak 'n Shake strikes a good balance where your food is prepared quickly, but at the same time you're waited on and served (its really just fast food with table service and real plates and cutlery). I also like the quasi-diner look and feel of their restaurants. I'd been driving on the I-95 for about 2 1/2 hours and was hungry when I happened to see signage for this Steak 'n Shake. I hadn't been to one of their restaurants in a few years, so I decided to stop. When I arrived at around 6:30, there were only I think 4 other customers there. I was seated right away and given a menu, and as I was sitting down, the server asked if I knew what I wanted to drink. By the time she returned, I'd already glanced at the menu and knew what I wanted - The original double 'n cheese steakburger and fries, and a turtle caramel nut shake. Yum! Within a few minutes I'd finished off the Coke I'd been served (I'd been driving for a few hours and was quite thirsty). The woman who was cleaning nearby tables noticed and called to the server to let her know I needed a refill. It was there in short order. A few minutes later, she brought my shake. I thanked her, and she smiled and said "You're quite welcome, I hope you enjoy it." Wow, personable service is still alive and well! Before I even got to try a spoonful of my shake, my meal was being delivered. Fast! Everything I tried was very good, and I was happy with the taste and quality of the food. When the server came over to clear the table and give me my check, she asked where I was traveling to, and actually engaged in conversation. Wow, I guess I'm not in Miami anymore! Lol. Everything I had came to a total of $9.88 before gratuity. Well worth it, and I left the server a healthy gratuity.. Considering her personality and the fact that she obviously cares and enjoys her job, she deserved it!

There were positives and negatives regarding this restaurant. More negatives than positives to be honest. Positives: the waitress that attended our table was very sweet and efficient. Always checking up on us and making sure we were okay. The milkshakes were nice, we tried the cookies n cream and m&m's. Negatives: we had to wait a very long time for our meals and they weren't that great either. The food wasn't amazing or horrible. Average. The prices were reasonable but i dont think we would be returning. Overall average restaurant.

Some thing was seriously wrong with this restaurant tonight. We're traveling for the holidays so I have no idea what it's usually like. Tonight, it was just sad. We waited several minutes to be seated. A server eventually seated us. She didn't give us menus. The restaurant was about half full. Almost every empty table was dirty. She had to clean one for us. We waited for about 20 minutes for first contact with a server. Three of the four servers definitely saw us. The other was obviously struggling. She spent most of her time behind the drink station and looking at tickets. At this point, there were maybe 12 tables with diners at them. We were there about 6:30 pm. It was a truly epic failure of basic restraint management and service. I saw at least two managers pop in from the back, but no one recognized or helped withy the issues out front. Eventually, a server, that was not supposed to have our table took us since she knew we hadn't been waited on. Once she took our order, the food came very quickly. (Which tells me this was not a kitchen issue.) If she had not come to our table when she did, we would have left. Berline was her name I believe. She was very sweet and efficient.

Had no problem with either The problem and the law rating comes from the thug/gang type element hanging around in the parking lot Poorly/ sloppy dressed some with no shirts on some with undershirts on just did not look good and concerns me I have no problem with teens setting around laughing and joking in a parking lot but when music is blarring and doors wide open on both sides they are milling around is not good

I can't believe I have never been to a Steak and Shake. I thought it was like a fast food joint. Didn't realize it was more like a diner type atmosphere. They have a great menu if you are looking for value for your dollar. $4 dollar menu, worked out just right, varied items and quite tasty. Great Shakes, and desserts. Looks like I will have to come back and check out this place for breakfast too. It's also open 24 hours, who knew; Yay, I'm a fan!

Fries are decent if seasoned. Burgers are mediocre, but the one drenched in garlic is the better of the options I tried here. They do try well to provide good service however they do not know their menu and they messed up our order twice. They did not give us any of the condiments we asked for as well. I would come back for the fries and the shakes are delicious. I couldn't care less for their burgers so maybe a hotdog is a better choice here.

It was my first time at a Steak 'n Shake and I was very pleased. The Portobello 'n Swiss burger is very tasty. String fries are always a good thing. And the coke has a nice bite to it. All in all, this was very good for fast food.

The food is great and I love the shakes. The service sucks. On our way back from Orlando we stop by to have dinner, the sign when you walk in says wait to be seated. We waited and no one noticed us until we said something. Its a pretty opened place so we are hard to miss. We are then seated and we waited for our server...we dont get one until we say something. We finish our meal and we waited for our check.... again we dont get one until we ask. All three times we ask the same lady behind the bar. Very nice lady but if i wanted to go eat at a fastfood place and do everything myself i would have went to one. The management needs improvement so the wait stuff doesnt suck.

This place is a mess. The kitchen doesn't cook orders in the order they're reserved. After 30 minutes of waiting we kindly asked when the 1 hamburger and 1 salad would be ready. Our waitress, we were sitting at the bar, answered with complete apathy "I don't know". She told us it could be an hour. She obviously hated her job, but still she could have tried to do it. Don't go here. Wendy's and Burger King are across the street. Go there and save the hassle.

Don't expect a fresh burger. There's a stack of done burgers sitting on the spatula on top of the grill. The manager said they were for the taco salad. We watched the cook take one and make a burger with one and pointed out to the manager. Don't waste your money thinking you're going to get a quality fresh burger. The Frisco was horribly dry with the cheese not melted and the fries-ugg. **After the manager went and checked the burger that was made out, he refunded our 17 bucks back and said sorry. We told the manager if we wanted McDonald's we would have went there!

Nasty! I've been here before and the food is typical fast food but good enough. Today my burger bun was so soggy I could not eat it! The waitress was a very sweet young lady and did her job well. Upon check out I presented three coupons and the cashier could not figure out how to apply them to my bill, had to wait for the manager. This used to be my favorite fast food spot, not sure I'll ever go back now. The last time I was here, a few weeks ago the food was ok but one of the staff was busy getting food packed for her family "to take out" and visiting with them while customers waited (from the loud condo that went on between them, it was clear these people were this woman's family) It is poorly managed and food quality and cleanliness has slipped.

It is a treat to walk in and have such a cute atmosphere and waitress for a "fast food" place. We ponied up to the bar......and I think this was a mistake for me. I do like the hamburgers when I have the rare indulgence. But I could have done without watching them cooked. That is a lot of fat! It is disturbing that they taste so good. So, if you love Steak'n Shake sit at the table or stay in the drive-thru. The service is remarkably quick and friendly.
